It looks like the FaceTime App released in iOS 4.3 beta 1 actually contains support for the iPad.iPaDevice reader DjBeppee has figured out how to decrypt the files and get it running on the first generation iPad.
The app looks somewhat similar to the FaceTime application for Mac OS X. Check it out in the video and screenshots below.
